Ecopartner Ltd. unites a team of experienced professionals in the area of waste and resource management bringing in knowledge and first-hand experience in industrialised and developing country settings.
Ecopartner started in April 1997 as an engineering and consulting company with head offices in Eastern Switzerland. The scope of the services was on waste and resources management. The company developed integrated waste management projects in Switzerland commissioned by regional public authorities and city administrations. Furthermore ecopartner offered engineering and consultancy services for waste management businesses and organisations with a focus on developing integrated waste management concepts, waste logistics, financing schemes, conduct site evaluations, landfill planning and construction and environmental impact assessments for new waste facilities.
Between 1998 and 2001 ecopartner was entrusted with projects in Colombia in the context of the Swiss-Colombian cooperation on Cleaner Production, financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
After an assignment of the managing director as head of the Sustainable Technology Cooperation group and later the Critical Materials and Resource Efficiency (CARE) group at Empa – the Swiss National Institute for Materials Science and Technology the company was relaunched in 2016. Today’s team members bring in a unique professional expertise in different fields of waste and resources management with a strong focus on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
Ecopartner combines technical expertise and experience with communication and development aspects based on the conviction that a purely technical approach does no fulfil the needs for a sustainable development.
